WHO ARE WE?

WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT?

You have discovered a website created and maintained by a single-issue grassroots group of American citizens who are fed up with Federal inaction and malfeasance and have decided to do something about it.

The issue may at first seem somewhat narrow to some. Especially to those that are not familiar with Western waterways and water issues. But the effects will nonetheless eventually impact millions, no matter where they may live.

The core issue is the infestation of America’s waterways by invasive mollusks identified as Zebra and Quagga mussels and the Federal Government’s criminally inadequate response to the problem, despite the enormous economic and ecological impacts this invasion will eventually visit upon the Western United States.

The Colorado River system from Lake Mead to the Sea of Cortez is already suffering the effects of this invasion, including inland lakes and waterways in the States of California and Arizona. California has already spent millions of tax payer dollars to combat this problem. Utah and Colorado will follow suit shortly and there is no future end in sight for the drain of the various states’ public money.

We want to stop this needless waste of taxpayer money and stop the spread of these mussels NOW,, before the problem overwhelms us all. An ugly and insidious enemy is at the gates and the front lines today may be found at the shores of Lake Powell in Arizona and Utah. Where those lines may be in the months to come is anyone’s guess. They may be found at the shores or banks of a waterway that provides your drinking water, your hydro power, or your fishing, boating swimming, camping or other source of outdoor recreation.

NO waterway is immune!

Lake Powell is not yet infected. It's critically important to millions that it stays that way. The consequences of an infestation of Lake Powell are too gruesome to contemplate. A downstream assault on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon will be an almost immediate result with all the hideous ramifications that will involve.
